With completely non-destructive inspection, quickly and simply gain wide-ranging information on ruptures in internal steel tendons

The measuring device is equipped with special magnets and magnetic sensors and SenrigaN cloud, which analyzes and visualizes the measurement results, enabling quick (about 15 seconds for each 16 cm × 53 cm area) non-destructive inspection for ruptures in prestressed concrete tendons and rebar
Because it is possible to gain information about tendon ruptures over a wide area, which was conventionally difficult, users can now consider solutions suited to the actual state of the bridge.

As bridges continue to age, efficiently checking for tendon ruptures will be necessary.
Understanding where the ruptures are will contribute to visualizing which bridges really need treatment and to achieving preventative maintenance.

A measuring instrument that aims for ease of measurement on site

A measuring instrument that aims for ease of measurement on site

Through demonstrative experiments in many actual bridges, we have realized a design that is easy to use on site. The measuring device (approx. 3.4 kg) and the magnet unit (approx. 4.3 kg) are both lightweight and can be used for work throughout the day. Switching between measurement methods on site (see here for the available methods) is also easy.

See results while measuring

Because the instrument is equipped with a SIM, it can communicate with SenrigaN cloud in real time. The data is uploaded immediately, and the cloud analyzes the measurement data so that you can check the results on a tablet or other device you have at hand.

Automatic reporting

The measurement data is immediately saved in the cloud and stored with links to photos of the measurement locations, determinations on whether there are ruptures, notes, and other information.
This information can be output in bulk in Word document format using the automatic reporting function.
In addition to measurement on site, it also streamlines the reporting process.

Automatic determination function (beta version) is now available

Our SenrigaN team has so far investigated many pretensioned girders and RC slab bridges.
These girders, which do not have a very thick cover, give a clear signal when they break, making it possible to detect steel material breaks with high accuracy.
On the other hand, because of the influence of stirrups and magnetic materials other than steel, the interpretation of waveforms had to be carried out by specialized engineers.
Therefore, we have developed an automatic judgment function to make it easier for everyone involved in bridge maintenance management.
It is currently in beta version and there are some conditions, so if you are interested, our sales staff will be happy to explain it to you.
Please feel free to contact us.

Introducing our efforts on concrete paving.

Introducing our efforts regarding concrete pavement.

SenrigaN was first developed to solve the problem of "finding fractures in prestressing steel inside bridge girders," but it is gradually expanding its scope of use, and is currently targeting steel and reinforcing bars inside "concrete pavement."

In joint research with the Public Works Research Institute, we have confirmed its application to the inspection of fractures in "dowel bars" inside concrete pavement. There is a report on the Civil Engineering Research Institute's website.
    https://thesis.pwri.go.jp/public_detail/1001227/

In addition, regarding concrete pavement at airports, we conducted model experiments on continuous reinforced concrete pavement and PC precast pavement, and presented the results at an airport technology briefing session.
You can view the announcement from the URL below on the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism website.

I appeared as a panelist at the "Research Discussion Session" at the 2020 Japan Society of Civil Engineers National Conference.

Morita from BIC Japan took the stage at the "Research Discussion Session", which is one of the programs of the 2020 Japan Society of Civil Engineers National Conference. The subcommittee for the promotion of new technology application of the Infrastructure Maintenance General Committee provides a topic entitled "International expansion of infrastructure management technology - industry-government-academia collaboration and the role of academia" and the topic is "Overseas expansion challenges and learnings from in-house non-destructive inspection technology SenrigaN from other industries." Although the business has only just started in countries such as South Korea, Australia, and Italy, I was able to provide topics and discuss from the perspective of a business operator, especially from my experience of actually hitting a wall in terms of how to expand business into target countries. I am very grateful to everyone involved for giving me this opportunity, even though I am from a different industry. In addition, in order to contribute even a little to this activity, I strongly feel that we need to continue to share information and have a stronger awareness that in this era of major maintenance, and even more importantly, in the large overseas market, industry, academia, and government work together from Japan.

    NEWS

Seoul City, the Construction Technology Institute, and Wookyung Construction teamed up to carry out SenrigaN's domestic trial in Korea.

We conducted a demonstration experiment of SenrigaN in South Korea in collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Institute of Construction Technology, and Wookyung Construction.

Most of the concrete bridges in South Korea are PC bridges, so SenrigaN has been paying attention to us since before the coronavirus, and to date we have been giving remote presentations at the Open Innovation Society in Seoul and introducing our technology in South Korea. Finally, in the summer, entry into South Korea was lifted, and we were able to conduct a demonstration experiment there (8/22-8/26). This time, in the presence of the City of Seoul, we carried out demonstration experiments on a sample bridge at the Institute of Construction Technology in northern South Korea, and visited Namwon City to conduct performance verification on a sample bridge at the Woogyeong Construction Factory. In South Korea, non-destructive testing is attracting a lot of attention as people are searching for maintenance-related technologies globally. SenrigaN's convenience and cloud-based analysis system were highly evaluated. However, it was extremely difficult for SenrigaN, which uses magnetic force, to arrange bridge reinforcements that can withstand 40-ton trucks and other military aircraft such as tanks, and the fact that the structure is different from that of Japanese bridges was a big learning experience. Due to this trend, we are planning to try again in October on an old, deteriorated bridge that is similar in structure to Japan. As we move forward with demonstration cases like this one, and with local implementation in mind, we have learned that industry-academia-government collaboration is extremely important overseas as well, and that the existence of local partner companies that are serious about investing in pursuing the project as a business is also extremely important. I strongly feel that creating a group like this from an early stage is the path to success when expanding overseas. SenrigaN will continue to actively take on the challenge of global expansion and evolve with our "Imaging to the people" management vision in mind, which aims to make the invisible visible and solve social issues.
